A Fiat for the Year to Come
Many people, myself included, thought that 2016 (and tail end of 2015) would be the most change I would ever experience in my life. In that time I got married (November 2015), moved across town, adopted a cat, got pregnant, found out we were having twins, bought a house, moved across town again, adopted a dog, renovated parts of the house, quit my job, started a new job, quit that job AND gave birth to two babies. So, yes... my life changed A LOT.
However, after having coffee with a friend I realized that those changes were probably the shallowest of my life, as many of them were simple life circumstances. The real change, the change I want to strive after, is the change that comes in growing as a person.
Growing as a person is tough. I mean, it really sucks at times, because it means sacrifice. It means determination of the will. It means discipline. & there's no easy way to accomplish these things. But I want to do it. I want to become a better wife, mother, daughter of God, friend, writer, creative, etc. I want to live a healthier, fuller, more prayerful life. & the only way to do it is to ask God for help to truly look at yourself and then resolve to make change. & that process requires authenticity, honesty. There's no room for pretending, for masks or for bull shit. This is real stuff.
Fiat means "yes". This is my yes to growing, and to document the changes of my family for the years to come.
